Life Is Precious

Connecting to the inside

Life Is Precious is a project to use art as a unique bridge between women serving extended sentences in Ohio Reformatory for Women and the outside community. Storytelling through writings and interactive artwork exhibit alongside portraits of the women to convey the complexity and dimensionality of each person.

The goal of the art is to humanize those who have been marginalized and forgotten within the prison system, while also challenging the public to confront our collective responsibility in perpetuating mass incarceration in America. My art aspires to connect hearts and minds to the realities faced by those behind bars, and to inspire reflection on how we might contribute to a more just and compassionate society.
